Principal’s Message
Greetings everyone,
I am Clayton Cloud, the proud principal of Canopy Oaks Elementary, where we "Learn, Lead, and Achieve." As your principal, I want to make sure you know that my focus will always be to create a safe environment where children can learn, have experiences, and make memories. Along with the hard work of our teachers and staff, we want to make this the best school for your child.
Although this is just my second year as principal of Canopy Oaks, I have entered my 20th year of education. Before coming on, I spent 7 years as Assistant Principal of Sealey Elementary, 1 year as Dean of Students at the Ghazvini Learning Center, and 10 years at Hawks Rise Elementary as a 3rd and 5th grade teacher. I am a proud Tallahassee native and product of Leon County Schools. In fact, I was born and raised just a few blocks from Canopy Oaks, and was, at one point, a member of its afterschool staff. I graduated from Florida State University, where I received both my undergraduate (Elementary Education) and graduate degrees (Educational Leadership).
My heart is truly for our elementary age students. I'm hopeful that by working together, we all can give your child the best foundation for a bright future. Thank you for choosing Canopy Oaks!
Sincerely,
Clayton Cloud
Principal
