What is the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)?
Canopy Oaks Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is an important piece to our school. PTO brings so much to parents, teachers, and, most importantly, the students. Made up of parents, teachers and cardinal families the organization is vital to our school. There are no dues or fees to be a part of this special school organization. The only requirement is that you are a Canopy Oaks Elementary School parent or guardian! Families and teachers come together once a quarter to meet. These meetings are not only informative, but timely and fun!
PTO is a great way for the families to get involved in a unique way at our school!

The PTO's primary objective is to meet the needs of the school and its community. By hosting fundraisers that raise funding for the school and identifying best ways to use funds raised. We provide experiential opportunities for our cardinal community.
Some of our fun and exciting fundraisers include:
● Cardinal Fun Run
● Worlds Finest Chocolate
● Popcorn Fridays
● Spiritwear Sales

Some of the ways we give back to our community through money raised:
● Providing school improvements to benefit all students
● T-shirts for grade levels
● Covering partial costs of activity fees
● Offering free or low cost events and activities to families

Who can become a PTO member? How do you become a member?
Anyone who has a heart for the goals and community of Canopy Oaks Elementary School. There is no cost to join and your involvement is up to you! Between attending our quarterly zoom meetings, volunteering as needed or holding a board position there is a place for everyone.

We strongly encourage attendance when possible. However, we do not require attendance to be involved. Many of our involved PTO families are not able to attend all meetings. They are still involved by participating in fundraisers, events and any other volunteer opportunities as available.

Announcements, updates and other pertinent information can be found several ways:
● Facebook/Instagram - Canopy Oaks Information
● Friends - Updates will be sent out via your teachers' Remind group.
● Focus - The school will send out additional information using their distribution platform
● Fliers - Paper copies of some updates will be sent home in folders. Be sure to check your student's bag often!
● Quarterly newsletter with updates on all the comings, going and updates of PTO.
